Lefthand SAN – Lessons learned

Hi, I have moved this blog to the new site frankdenneman.nl.
The new home for this article is: http://frankdenneman.nl/2009/10/lefthand-san-lessons-learned/
Apologies for the inconvenience

Hello Frank, I serioulsy never do this, but I just had to stop and say thank you for publishing this article. I have recently purchased the 2-node P4500 SAN to replace our EMC AX150i. Few things are as tedious and frustrating as mining through documentation and trying to figure everything out yourself. I found the help files that come with the CMC to be insufficient and your post hits on all the key points to which I was looking for clarification, understandibly and without a bunch of fluff. Thanks again.

Thanks for the article, and I also did read http://virtualgeek.typepad.com/virtual_geek/2009/09/a-multivendor-post-on-using-iscsi-with-vmware-vsphere.html [the updated version or the one you had linked to]. Just not sure how different these types of setups relate if you are using the VSA instead of the P4000 [or other pre-built systems].

Mainly, I want to try and find out, does everything still apply when you throw the LeftHand VSA into the mix?

    To anyone who knows,

I’m trying to locate the LeftHand SAN User Manual that is referenced within the LeftHand thread. I have been unable to locate this specific documentation within HP or via Google.

    thx
